From Live Nation TV:
“I don’t want people to see me—someone puts me on Instagram, and it’s all over.” Papa Emeritus III, the papal pseudonym and lead singer of the metal band Ghost, is trying not to look too conspicuous as he walks through the VICE offices wearing a black tunic and an upside-down cross necklace, holding one of Ghost’s “nameless ghoul” masks at his side. He isn’t wearing any of his signature black-and-white skull makeup today, and as we steal away to a less populated part of the building, he asks what kind of interview we are doing—one with the mask, or without.
“If we do one without the mask,” he says, “we can actually talk about something real.”
